MIDDLE SCHOOL NON-NEGOTIABLES 2017-2018
1. ALL work and loose-leaf assignments must have a proper heading of first and last name, date, subject, and teacher’s name.
2. ONLY blue or black ink may be used (unless otherwise directed by the teacher).
3. Mathematics assignments MUST be completed in pencil and all work must be shown.
4. All final writing assignments in any subject must be completed in blue or black ink in cursive unless the assignment is typed. If the assignment is typed, it must be typed Times New Roman, font size 12, double spaced (unless otherwise specified by the individual teacher).
5. All responses must be written in complete sentences and paragraphs and should restate the question. Paragraphs should be indented and have an introduction, supporting details, conclusions, and be 6-10 sentences in length.
6. All work MUST be checked for spelling, grammar, capitalization, and punctuation.
7. Some assignments may include a rubric or checklist to be used as a guide for completeness.
8. All homework MUST be neat and show that care was taken in completing the assignment.
9. If standards for assignments are not followed, work may be returned and you will be asked to resubmit.
10. Plagiarism is NOT permitted, i.e., copying/using another person’s work without proper citation. Plagiarism will result in a failing grade and may incur additional consequences.
